Mrinal Dev-Kulkarni (Devanagari: मृणाल देव-कुलकर्णी) is an actress in India known for her role in popular serial Son Pari. She has acted in both Marathi and Hindi TV serials and films.

Acting career

Mrinal was 16 when she made her debut in the role of Peshawe Madhavrao's wife Ramabai in the Marathi TV serial Swami.

She has a Master's degree in Linguistics from Pune University; however, she has continued with acting as her career on receiving, after the above successful role, many more roles, including those in Shrikant, a TV serial based on one of Saratchandra Chatterjee's novels; The Great Maratha; Draupadi; Hasratein; Meerabai; Teacher; Khel; Sparsh; and Sonpari. Her role in the TV serial Avantika on Alpha Marathi channel has received much acclaim.

Mrinal Kulkarni has acted in Bollywood films Jai Dakshineshwar Kali Ma (1996), Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (2000), Ashiq (2001), Veer Savarkar (2001), Uuf Kya Jadu Mohobbat Hai (2004), Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye (2005), and Quest (2006).

Kulkarni won the 2001 Screen Award in the Best Actress category for her role in the Marathi film Jodidar (2000). She won the 2003 Star Parivar Award in the Best Jadui Kirdar category for her role in the serial Sonpari.[1] Her recent movie 'Thang/The Quest' directed by Amol Palekar, won National Award.

Personal life

Mrinal's mother Veena dev is the daughter of Marathi writer Gopal Nilkanth Dandekar. Mrinal's father was the principal of S. P. College in Pune for some years.she is married to Ruchir Kulkarni,who is a criminal lawyer. Mrinal has a son, Virajas, who is pursuing his degree in Mass media.
